Prospective vice president (vice president) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno is committed to helping victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Palu and Donggala in Central Sulawesi. He also invited all components of society to work together to help the area. "The situation there needs help from all elements of society, and this is the right time for us to work together," Sandiaga said in Jakarta, Monday (1/10).
Sandiaga revealed he was collecting funds to be donated to victims of natural disasters. According to him the attitude of mutual cooperation needs to be done in the midst of the nation being affected by the disaster. "This is an opportunity for us to leave politics as usual for a while but instead use this opportunity to improve our nation's identity, namely mutual cooperation," he said.
The same thing was also conveyed by presidential candidate (presidential candidate) Prabowo Subianto. Prabowo said he was ready if his cadres and his party wing were needed by the government to assist the authorities in handling the disaster. "I and Mr. Sandi, at all times we are ready to be called by the government to see if the government wants to use some of the resources available to us," he said.
The two also decided to suspend campaign activities in Central Sulawesi in the near future. He claimed he did not want to disturb the focus of the authorities in the evacuation of victims. "In the first days, the handling team is important, the government Basarnas, officials must be free. If we come to visit, it can be troublesome and I don't want to politicize," Prabowo said at his residence on Jalan Kertanegara, Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta, Monday (1 / 10).
