The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of the Province of Bali expressed an attitude of rejection of all forms of activities in the name of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) in Indonesia and Bali in particular. The Chairperson of the Bali MUI, Muhammad Taufik Asadi, said that his party was informed of the planned Grand Final for the Mister and Miss Style Dewata 2018 activities to be held by the Gaya Dewata Foundation on October 10, 2018.
"This is clearly very alarming, because the action is clearly contrary to moral and religious values in Indonesia," Taufik said in writing to Republika.co.id, Tuesday (10/10). The Bali MUI as a forum for all Muslims in Bali has been carrying out the Indonesian religious and constitutional principles. Taufik said, LGBT behavior was deviant and contrary to morality and religion.
LGBT behavior in Islam is a big sin. The law has several opinions. First, the perpetrators are punished with adultery because they are analogous to doing something unlawful. This is Hadawiyah's opinion of the pilgrims from the salaf and khalaf, also Imam Syafii.
Second, homosexuals and homosexuals are killed, both of them are muhshon or have been married and have intercourse, or ghairu muhshon (never married). This is a supporting opinion and qaul qadim as-Syafii. According to a number of verses from the Koran and Hadith, the act of great sin must be avoided and the perpetrators need to be punished.
LGBT behavior, said Taufik, also contradicts the first principle of Pancasila, the Almighty Godhead. This also contradicts Article 28 and 29 of the 1945 Constitution. Thus, all forms of deviant charged activities are constitutional behavior.
"To avoid the occurrence of undesirable things, such as the forced dissolution or horizontal conflicts between groups of people, the Bali MUI appealed to the government, especially the Bali Regional Police (Polda) to ban, cancel, and dissolve the activity," said Taufik.
